Founded in 2009, the Pascua Yaqui Bar Association has set out to establish a tradition of service to the legal profession and the greater Pascua Yaqui community, bringing lawyers together to join in a strong organization that works to achieve objectives that transcend the individual. The PYBA looks forward to providing programs and services designed to improve our local judicial system, foster & enhance the quality of legal services in our community, and provide educational and professional programs for our members. On March 1, 2010 Pascua Yaqui Judges and Justices met with members of Parliament, educators and other governmental dignitaries from Chad, Guinea, Mali, Mozambique, Niger, and Nigeria.
In conjunction with the U. S. Dept of State and the Tucson Council for International Visitors, the tribal court has coordinated and hosted comparative justice forums with various international government groups (4-5 times a year) since 2007.

Title 3 of the Pascua Yaqui Code was amended on November 10, 2009 to include language which clarifies the status of Judicial Branch records. With the exception of Juvenile Court records, Child Welfare records and records that have been sealed by a court order, “all court records shall be open to inspection by the public.”

In conjunction with the United States Department of State and the Tucson Council for International Visitors, the Pascua Yaqui Tribal Court will be hosting a forum for visitors from Armenia, Croatia, Finland, Germany, Kosovo, Lithuania, Macedonia, Netherlands, Slovenia, Spain, and the United Kingdom on November 10, 2009.

In just a few short weeks attorneys and lay advocates will have the option of recertifying online. All practitioners who have an email address on record with the court will receive a email notifying them of this option when their certification is about to expire.
